SASANIAN KINGS. Khosrau II, 591-628. Follis (Bronze, 29 mm, 10.00 g, 3 h), imitating a Byzantine follis of Heraclius with Heraclius Constantine from Nicomedia (Sear 834), struck in an uncertain Syrian mint in the 13th year of the Sasanian occupation of Syria in 610 = 622. Heraclius to left and Heraclius Constantine to right, standing facing, each crowned and holding globus cruciger in his right hand; illegible legend to left and right. Rev. Large M under a small cross; officina letter ‘B’ below; to left and right, ‘A/N/N – X/III’ (‘year 13’ in Latin); in exergue, mintmark ‘OCNKO’. Pottier, Class IV(2). Zeno 312889. Areas of weakness, otherwise, about very fine.
